Position Overview
Superior Protection Services is seeking a professional and dependable Armed Security Officer to provide security services at a secure Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) Placement Center in Phoenix.
This position is primarily an indoor, lobby-based assignment where officers serve as a visible security presence while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children, staff, and approved visitors. Officers are responsible for monitoring access to the facility, conducting occasional walking patrols of common areas, and standing security during sensitive meetings when requested.
The ideal candidate is professional, observant, calm under pressure, and possesses strong verbal de-escalation and customer service skills. Due to the sensitive nature of this facility, officers must maintain strict confidentiality and consistently demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional security presence from the facility lobby.
- Monitor and control access to the building.
- Verify authorized visitors and enforce site access procedures.
- Conduct occasional interior walking patrols of designated common areas.
- Stand security outside conference rooms during sensitive meetings when assigned.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or policy violations.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts professionally.
- Protect confidential information regarding children, staff, and facility operations.
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports using TrackTik.
- Follow all company policies, post orders, and client procedures.
- Immediately notify supervisors of incidents requiring escalation.
Work Environment
This assignment is located inside a secure Department of Child Safety placement center where children are present throughout the day. Officers should expect:
- Primarily indoor work in a professional office environment.
- Limited walking patrols throughout the facility.
- Frequent interaction with staff, visitors, and partner agencies.
- Strict confidentiality requirements.
- No photography or video recording permitted anywhere on site.
- Professional appearance and conduct required at all times.

Minimum Qualifications
- Active Arizona Armed Guard Card (Required)
- Tier III Firearms Certification (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of armed or unarmed security experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with verbal de-escalation techniques
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to write accurate and detailed reports
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Comfortable carrying a firearm while on duty
- Must wear a complete security uniform and badge at all times
- Personal cell phone use while on duty is prohibited except during approved breaks
