PDP 1220:
Special Education Part I
An overview of theory and practice underpinning Special Education; studying commonalities that unite students, program planning and delivery issues; creating safe, equitable, accessible and supportive teaching-learning environments, exploring legislation policy and program development; individualizing and modifying assessment and instruction; establishing the teacher-school-parent-guardian-community relationships.
This 1st part intended to enhance professional practice and extend knowledge and skills in the delivery of Special Education Course.

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.
These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.
These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements:
* Salary will be based on student enrolment.
Minimum qualifications:
– Master’s degree in education.
– Specialist qualification recognized by the College of Teacher of Ontario.
– Recent experience as a full-time teacher in a school or in administration within a school board.
– Two years of experience implementing the Ontario Curriculum in the relevant subject area.
– Confirmation of updated qualifications in education, particularly in the relevant subject area.
– Ability to apply Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice in the Teaching Profession.
An acceptable level of education/experience could be viewed as being equiv. to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
