Job Overview
The Apprentice Carpenter / Laborer will assist construction personnel with job site tasks and clean-up. This person will take direction from the lead personnel on the job. They should possess basic hand tool skills and perform work in a safe manner and follow company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in Construction Tasks: Help journeyman carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials for various projects, including framing, roofing, and installing fixtures.
- Mix Concrete: Run mud mixing machine when concrete repair tasks are needed
- Use Hand Tools: Willing and able to use hand tools to dig holes and level ground from time to time.
- Site Organization: Keep the job site clean and organized, assisting in the setup and cleanup of work areas.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic Carpentry Knowledge: A foundational understanding of carpentry tools and techniques is beneficial, though not always required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality craftsmanship and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively.
- Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent; some experience in construction or carpentry classes is advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
