Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various carpentry and construction tasks, providing a foundation for a rewarding career in the building trades. This role involves working under the supervision of experienced carpenters and tradespeople to develop essential skills in residential, commercial, and restoration projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution.
- Participate in concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks to help create durable structures.
- Support framing activities including siding installation and woodwork fabrication using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely under supervision for tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for construction sites.
- Aid in restoration projects by replacing or repairing damaged structures and surfaces.
- Use welding equipment when necessary to join materials according to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on various construction activities, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction principles, carpentry, woodworking, or related fields is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols on job sites.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills.
- Prior experience with concrete forming, concrete finishing, siding installation, or welding is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Valid <PERSON> (or equivalent) license preferred but not required; must be able to operate heavy equipment safely when trained. Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
