We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Appliance Repair Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with hands-on technical experience who take pride in problem-solving and customer service.
Position Summary
The Appliance Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing a wide range of residential appliances. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently in a field environment, and a commitment to maintaining professional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential appliances, including:
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Washers and dryers
- Dishwashers
- Electric and gas stoves/ovens
- Perform appliance installations, including proper setup, leveling, and testing
- Conduct in-home service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to identify issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Find faulty components and complete necessary part replacements
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety
- Maintain accurate service records, job reports, and documentation
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding diagnosis, repair options, and costs
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and industry standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicle, and work areas
- Travel within assigned service areas to complete scheduled appointments
- Assemble or install appliances as needed, ensuring proper setup and operation
- Experience with assembly of appliances or equipment installation is desirable
- Prior experience working with similar technical environments is advantageous
- This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of working independently while delivering high-quality service.
Qualifications & RequirementsMandatory Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence with clean driving record
- G2 Gas Technician Licence (Required)
- Minimum 6–8 months appliance repair experience OR strong mechanical/electrical background
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working independently in a field service environment
- Willingness to travel within service areas
- Must successfully pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Sealed system (refrigeration) certification
- ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) certification
- Previous experience in appliance repair, HVAC, or refrigeration service
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Work Schedule
- Full-time position (minimum 40 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Overtime available based on workload
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $21.00 – $25.00, based on experience and qualifications

Work Environment
This is a field-based role involving travel to customer locations. The position requires working in various residential environments and may involve physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
