The Senior Policy Analyst will be accountable for leading the research, analysis, development and implementation of strategic policies and legislation for BC’s immigration programs and the Immigration Programs Branch priorities. Key activities will include leading, managing and/or contributing to intergovernmental briefing materials for Ministry Executive, leading strategic policy projects, writing briefing materials, and communicating advice and recommendations to senior staff.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Law, Humanities, Economics or equivalent.

Minimum three (3) years experience in each of the following:

Developing advice and recommendations in a government context (municipal, provincial, or federal level), and

Drafting briefing materials for senior decision-makers, and

Developing and implementing projects, and

Researching and gathering information from a variety of sources.

An equivalent amount of education and related experience may be considered as follows:

Graduate-level degree (Masters or Doctorate) plus two (2) years of the above experience; or

Bachelors degree plus three (3) years of the above experience; or

Diploma plus four (4) years of the above experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with graduate-level degree

Preference may be given to candidates with a minimum of three (3) years experience related to immigration or intergovernmental relations
