Job Summary

An opportunity to utilize your expert analytical and problem management skills

The Health Services Policy Division sets the foundation for the delivery of high quality health services by establishing patient centered health services policy for the delivery of provincial health care services. The division monitors quality assurance in the system, designs service delivery models that meet the needs of patients and works with service delivery partners on key actions and quality improvement initiatives.

The Policy and Project Analyst supports policy analysis, policy advisory services, and the evaluation of issues affecting the Ministry’s business by conducting research and analysis of issues. As well, the position provides technical project coordination for a variety of large-scale complex projects throughout the project management life cycle (i.e., initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout), and is directly accountable for assigned portions (e.g., sub projects) of larger projects as a project team member.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health, or Public Administration, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of progressive, and related experience* OR
Diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years in each progressive, and related experience* OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 4 years in each progressive and related experience*.

* Progressive and related experience must include:

Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed reports and other documentation proposing options and assessing the impact of ministry policy, existing or proposed legislation, or partner positions.
Demonstrated experience in organizing and coordinating committee meetings and providing secretariat support.
Experience in project management, planning processes, and issues management.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)
Preference may be given to applicants who have demonstrated experience in writing briefing notes and correspondence.
Preference may be given to applicants who have demonstrated experience in providing advice on policy research methods, sampling techniques, questionnaire design, data analysis, and other evaluation processes.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
