The Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s Food System Partnership Unit supports the growth and success of B.C.’s food processing industry. The unit works collaboratively across the supply chain to grow economic opportunities and strengthen B.C.’s food system resilience.   Through strategic programs and projects, FSPU builds capacity, partnerships, and long-term business opportunities for the processing industry. FSPU staff are specialists in the food processing sector and lead major initiatives such as Feed BC and the BC Food Hub Network.
As a member of the Food and Beverage Processing team within the Food Systems Partnership Unit, the Food Processing Analyst provides research and program/policy analysis/evaluation to support sector intelligence and the planning, development and delivery of projects, programs, initiatives and services that strengthen the food and beverage processing sector in B.C.

Job Requirements:

Degree in economics, business administration, marketing, public administration, or equivalent

An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.

Related experience must include the following:

Minimum one year experience researching program/program policy issues and conducting program/policy analysis.

Minimum one year experience managing projects and/or project components.

Minimum one year experience of projects involving substantial data collection, analysis and/or interpretation.

Experience in directing the work of contracted and staff resources.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

Experience in procurement and resources/financial management.

Experience working with the agriculture, food and/or seafood processing industry.

Experience delivering business or sector development programs/services.

Two years or more experience researching program/program policy issues and conducting program/policy analysis.

Two years or more experience managing projects and/or project components.

Willingness Statements

Willingness to travel.

This position requires you to have a valid FULL BC driver’s license (minimum class 5), or an equivalent class driver’s license from another province or jurisdiction.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home 2 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
