We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Admission Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process, promoting our institution’s programs, and fostering positive relationships with applicants. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to student success while developing professional skills in recruitment, public speaking, and student engagement. The Admission Counselor will work closely with prospective students, parents, and school partners to ensure a seamless and informative admissions experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to attract prospective students through campus visits, information sessions, and community events.
- Provide personalized guidance to prospective students regarding admission requirements, programs, and campus resources.
- Deliver compelling presentations and participate in public speaking engagements to promote the institution’s offerings.
- Manage the application process from initial inquiry to enrollment, ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
- Utilize Ellucian or similar CRM systems to track applicant information, update records, and generate reports on recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and academic departments to understand program specifics and accurately convey this information to prospects.
- Assist in developing marketing materials and strategies aimed at increasing applicant engagement.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of institutional policies, admission standards, and industry best practices related to recruiting.
Requirements
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Experience with Ellucian or comparable student information systems is preferred.
- Proven recruiting experience or background in student outreach is highly desirable.
- Prior teaching or educational experience is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of academic environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with prospective students and their families.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple inquiries and applications simultaneously.
