About MRU
Founded in 1910 and located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Mount Royal University grew into a vibrant college in the 1930s and became a mid-sized university in 2009. About the Department of Child Studies and Social Work
The Department of Child Studies and Social Work is home to the Bachelor of Child Studies degree, with both – Child and Youth Care Counsellor and Early Learning and Child Care, as well as the Bachelor of Social Work degree and Social Work diploma, under the Faculty of Health, Community and Education. About the Role
Reporting to the Chair, Child Studies and Social Work this position is accountable for providing executive administrative support to the Chair and department which comprises of approximately 25 full-time faculty and staff and 30 part-time contract faculty. We are looking for a highly organized candidate who works well in an adapting environment and has an exceptional work ethic to fulfill this position which is both collaborative and independent.
This position functions as the lead for daily office operations, managing and coordinating administrative responsibilities and assists in the effective use of the Chair’s calendar and schedule, ensuring timely and effective information flow regarding department business. The Administrative Assistant to the Chair also works closely with Program Coordinators, MRU Scheduling and is a liaison to MRU community and external community. This position requires an understanding of work within university systems, policies and procedures and budgets.

Act as the central point of administrative organization and communication for the Department Chair
Support the Program Coordinators, faculty and staff, to ensure effective day to day operations
