Addiction Therapist/Counselor (Full Time) Jobs in Jacksonboro, SC at Hammocks on the Edisto, LLC
Hammocks on the Edisto is a unique, gender-specific (women), intimate, 15 bed facility on the banks of the Edisto River just 25 minutes outside of Charleston. We focus on underlying trauma that drives a primary substance use disorder while offering high-level intensity of evidence-based therapies.
QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
- At least 3 years experience in treating SUD’s.
- At least 1 year MH experience with treatment of trauma
Preferred:
- Licensure: LPC, LAC, LMFT
- Certification: Addictions or seeking certification through APSC.
- Specialized certification/training in Women’s Issues, Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and/or family systems theory/therapy are highly desired.
Job Summary:
The Therapist provides intensive, professional counseling services (both group and individual) to a caseload of patients with a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. Oversees implementation of treatment plans. Has regular contact with referral sources. Identifies family issues needing to be addressed before discharge. Plans treatment services as required.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the disease model of addiction, co-occurring disorders, the recovery process, relapse prevention, and 12 step programs/12 step facilitation is necessary for these positions.
- Must be licensed/certified as a professional counselor, clinical social worker(LPC, LISW, LMSW, LMFT), or comparable profession. Candidates can be considered that are certification eligible as an addiction counselor in the state of South Carolina.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of ASAM criteria, and diagnostics.
- Must be relentlessly passionate about making a positive impact on the world and passionate about being a part of our mission of treating individuals who are struggling with behavioral health and substance abuse issues.
Performance Expectations:
- Assess assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Address issues identified in the treatment plans and work with patients to create measurable, attainable treatment plan goals.
- Conduct individual counseling sessions with assigned patients; Document session appropriately and within specified timeframes.
- Conduct group therapy sessions as scheduled; Document session appropriately and within specified timeframes.
- Be appropriately available to patients during times of emotional, physical or life crisis. Conduct emergency counseling sessions as needed. Appropriately de-escalate disruptive or crisis situations.
- Basic computer knowledge; previous experience with electronic medical records preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay: $55,000.00 – $72,000.00 per year
