The YMCA Child Care team is dynamic, supportive and growing! Are you ready to work with a team to make a difference in children’s lives? We are looking for folks who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring!

  • Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y’s values
  • Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
  • Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Actively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner
  • Support implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
  • Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards) or hold a provincial ECE Assistant Certification
  • Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children’s health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)*
  • Experience working with school age children
  • Valid class 4 operator’s license (is an asset)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
