Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join our team on a 12 to 18 month maternity leave contract. This role is ideal for a detail oriented accounting professional or recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a fast paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently review, verify, and accurately enter accounts payable invoices
- Match invoices with tickets, purchase orders, and packing slips
- Maintain organized hard copy and digital filing systems
- Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure accounts payable processes run efficiently
- Communicate with suppliers regarding invoicing and payment inquiries
- Manage weekly payment schedules and prepare EFT remittances and cheques
- Identify opportunities to evaluate and improve current processes
- Assist with additional office and bookkeeping duties as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting or Commerce from an accredited college or university
- 2-3 years of accounting experience.
- General bookkeeping knowledge, including exposure to intercompany transactions
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel is required
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Work Environment & Schedule
- This position requires the individual to be on site.
- Extended periods of sitting.
- Extended periods working at a computer station.
- Regular working hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as required based on workload and deadlines.
- Business casual dress is expected.
- This is a 12-to-18-month maternity leave contract position and will follow standard company policies and procedures during the contract term.
