Account Executive VIP – Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing strategy to grow the personal insurance book of business through direct relationships with existing and new commercial lines business, managing leads from the Commercial Production team through a sales pipeline.
- Manage an insurance book of business, ensuring clients have necessary coverage, quoting and binding coverage, and cross‑ and up‑selling additional coverage where possible.
- Sell brokerage services to reach target revenue and activity quota.
- Conduct regular review meetings with existing clients to service and identify opportunities for new prospecting activities.
- Maintain a highly technical and service‑oriented relationship with clients and underwriters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurers to ensure favourable pricing and claims handling.
- Attend client, insurer, and industry functions to build networks and identify new business streams.
- Refer business opportunities outside specialty area to other Axis account executives.
- Prepare annual business plan with projected sales goals, strategies, obstacles, and areas for growth.
- Attend regular Personal Lines Growth Group meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ personal insurance experience.
- General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or equivalent license in the individual’s province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license.
- CAIB, CIP, CRM or other insurance designations considered an asset.
- Post‑secondary degree considered an asset.
- Experience using EPIC broker management system considered an asset.
- Experience with a Sales CRM (e.g., Hub Spot) considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
- Experience using the Epic broker management system.
- Insurance experience in D&O, cyber, and other specialty lines, rate sheets, split rating, and pre‑underwriting process for the practice group’s specialty industry/industries.
