This position is for the hours of 4am-12 noon
Salary as opposed to hourly pay can be negotiated
The Better Baker is now open on whyte avenue ñ.
We are a state of the art sourdough bakery and patisserie. Edmonton’s first open concept bakery which features a 1000 square foot kitchen. We are looking for two EXPERIENCED bakers. The right candidates will have the opportunity to receive shares in the company and become a part owner at no financial cost. Simply prove yourself and grow with us.
We are ANTI- minimum wage, and tips will be split evenly across all staff. This includes Baristas and Cooks/Bakers.
Meals will be free of charge as we refuse to let our staff go hungry.
As a baker and cook:
Duties:
– Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
– Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistent quality
– Mix ingredients and knead dough by hand or using mixers
– Monitor baking process and adjust temperatures and cooking times as needed
-SOURDOUGH as main focus
– Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and work area
– Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and fulfill orders
Requirements:
– Experience is required.
– Knowledge of baking techniques and principles
– Familiarity with different types of flours, yeast, sugars, and other baking ingredients
– Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt them as needed
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
– Excellent time management skills
– Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy trays or containers
