Our region has been traditionally reliant on forestry, mining, and agriculture but has seen an emerging tourism sector over the last decade. Each of our communities has experienced declining enrolment for several years;
and we are now predicting stabilization across the region. We operate a total of 18 schools in our communities. In addition to the community schools, SD91 also operates EBUS Academy , a non-standard, Provincial Online Learning School (POLS) that enrolls several thousand full and part-time students. EBUS is one of the most established and largest online schools in British Columbia serving families and students across the province.
